New York Library Club, Inc. is pleased to announce that its spring meeting will be at the renowned French Culinary Institute (FCI) at the International culinary Center at 462 Broadway (at Grand Street) in SoHo. The date and time will be Wednesday, April 16 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Institute's Librarian, Kim Beeman, will speak about the vital role that the Library plays at FCI as it relates to instruction and development of new cuisine, its collections and management, and the unique focus of its holdings at the core of the Institute. Kim developed a Culinary Timeline which is on permanent display and she will relate how and why she went about creating it. Additional information about the Institute as well as travel instructions is found as a link on our website (www.nylibraryclub.org). THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THE TOUR AND THE PROGRAM.

No visit to a gastronomic delight like the French Culinary Institute is complete without food! Accordingly, we arranged for the Institute's training restaurant, L'Ecole, to be available to Club members who wish to conclude the tour and program, by having a gourmet meal. The meal is completely optional and is available for a prix fixe amount of $48 payable in advance via check made out to New York Library Club, Inc., and mailed to P.O. Box 3343 Church Street Station, New York, N.Y. 10008-3343. This covers the meal and gratuity. Drinks may be ordered and paid for by the person ordering. Checks should be received by Wednesday, April 9. Thereafter, members should make arrangements through the restaurant themselves by telephone 212-219-3300. Further information may be found at French Culinary Institute/L'Ecole.

Celebrate spring by treating yourself and a friend to the French Culinary Institute on April 16. The officers and the Board of New York Library Club, Inc. look forward to joining you there!

Sincerely,
